Maine Office of Cannabis Policy 2023 listening tour announced

Maine and Rhode Island cannabis agencies announce listening tour

The Office of Cannabis Policy in Maine and the newly formed Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission have both scheduled four listening sessions between over the next few months. Maine regulators held a similar statewide listening tour last year. According to the announcement Director John Hudak and staff will conduct the Maine listening sessions to hear feedback from the public about the state’s adult-use and medical cannabis program. According to reporting from NBC 10 WJAR, the Chair of Rhode Island’s Cannabis Control Commission Kimberly Ahern announced the listening sessions as a way to get input from those within the industry, medical patients, and those who have been disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition and enforcement. This news comes after listening sessions in Massachusetts were announced for the public to give input to the Social Consumption Working Group tasked with looking into on-site cannabis consumption licenses.
