Lawmakers hold third cannabis hearing

Beacon Hill schedules third cannabis hearing for July 18

While other New England states have already passed cannabis reform this year the Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy in Massachusetts has announced their third hearing for this legislative session. The hearing will take place on July 18th at 10:30AM in room B2 of the Massachusetts State House. There are eleven bills on the agenda including making changes to allow for the interstate commerce of cannabis seeds, establishing an internal audit unit within the Cannabis Control Commission, and dedicating one-percent of the recreational marijuana excise tax to youth substance use prevention. Members of the public are invited to attend in-person or virtually in order to share feedback with lawmakers about the bills on the agenda.
