In the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston Nike John has opened a new dispensary named The Heritage Club. This is the first cannabis dispensary to open in the City of Boston owned by a black woman. John says that she was drawn into starting a cannabis business after discovering the lack of diversity in the cannabis industry. She wants more black women to be included in the cannabis industry and run successful business. The store is located at 116 Cambridge Street in Charlestown bordering East Somerville. Nike John was born and raised in Boston and participated in the Cannabis Control Commission’s first social equity cohort.
The Heritage Club will be celebrating with a grand opening on October 8th. The event description says there will be food, merchandise giveaways, and access to their premium products. The celebration is scheduled to take place at the dispensary between 11am and 3pm. The Heritage Club says that they are a mission driven dispensary with the goal of offering people a life full of relief, relaxation, creativity, and fun by facilitating simple access to high-quality cannabis products, such as concentrates and edibles, for every generation of adult consumers.
