Social equity lottery winners for product manufacturing and transporting chosen

CT social equity lottery winners move forward in two categories

Four businesses in Connecticut have learned that they will be able move forward in their quest for a cannabis product manufacturer or transporter license. The state Department of Consumer Protection recently announced the businesses chosen through this first round of the Social Equity Lottery. In Connecticut an equal number of licenses are granted to social equity and general applicants. High Regard CT LLC, Golden Hanuman Inc, and Bay Breeze Botanical, Inc were chosen in the product manufacturer lottery while Grow Green Girls, Inc was chosen for both of the available transporter slots.

According to the announcement these lottery winners represent the maximum number of Social Equity Licenses that are available for the product manufacturer and transporter license types in the first lottery round. The companies must submit background checks and a provisional license application to be reviewed by the Department of Consumer Protection. Lottery winners have also been chosen for product packagers, retailers, and micro-cultivators. With the lottery still underway the first recreational sales in Connecticut appear unlikely to occur this year.
