Boston Tea Party protest by MariMed

MariMed protests 280E taxes in Boston Tea Party themed event

Cannabis company MariMed took the Boston Harbor on July 12th to raise awareness about the burdensome federal tax situation facing cannabis companies across the nation. Dressed head to toe in 18th century attire MariMed employees stood together holding signs that read “No Taxation Without Representation” and “No More 280E!”. After reading a proclamation expressly criticizing Section 280E, MariMed’s Chief Operating Officer threw wooden boxes labeled “weed” into the water with his crew. The protest replicates the actions taken by the sons of liberty 250 years ago when boxes of tea were thrown overboard in Boston Harbor to protest of unfair taxes imposed by Britain.
