Marijuana legalization bill passes in New Hampshire House

A bill that would legalize the adult use and possession of marijuana in New Hampshire received enough votes to pass this week in the House. 234 lawmakers voted in favor of the bipartisan proposal. New Hampshire is the last remaining state in New England that has not yet legalized marijuana. The bill underwent major changes before making its way to the floor. House lawmakers voted in a similar fashion to support marijuana legalization a year ago in the last legislative session. Senate lawmakers have historically derailed any effort to pass marijuana legalization. Governor Chris Sununu has said that he believes marijuana legalization will ultimately happen, but is not supportive.
