Public Comment on Ownership Guidance

Commission wants feedback on changes to ownership guidance

At their April 2022 meeting the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission voted to made changes to their guidance on ownership and control. State law caps the number of licenses that individuals can own. The Commission has defined what direct versus indirect ownership but ongoing questions raised over time have caused the Commission to release a newly drafted ownership and control guidance.

The document goes over clarified definitions of close associate, equity holder, significant event, and indirect control. Business owners, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties can provide feedback to the Commission between April 11th and May 2nd at 5pm.
