As black history month continues, we are actively reviewing black owned cannabis businesses, brands, and their products. One such business is Shakti Green Lit, owned and operated by Maur Stringer who is focused on empowering people by helping them improve their health and wellbeing. He developed a first of its kind full-spectrum cannabis energy shot product with the help of Revolutionary Clinics that combines cannabis with caffeine and other herbs to enhance focus and elevate one’s state of mind. Having been in a bit of a health kick myself lately, I proceeded to locate some Shakti Green Lit with the Strawberry Lemonade flavor and picked some up and brought it home to try.
The Review
Having eaten earlier, I was ready to begin my daily health routine including going to the gym. I grabbed the Shakti Green Lit and loved the packaging. The box is a lovely green with a fantastic logo as the highlight with a gold motif that is truly unique. The line “Energize your Expansion” also graced the front, foretelling of what would be inside. The product contains a decent amount of caffeine. Also on the outer box was “Empowered People Empower People” further highlighting the founders mission to empower individuals by promoting health and wellness. The container that held the shot looks very similar to other energy shots sold at traditional retailers. Once again though, the container was wrapped in the nicely designed logo and the colors of Shakti Green Lit.
Cracking the bottle open, I prepared a glass and poured the shot into it. Immediately I could smell the strawberry lemonade flavoring which is reminiscent of products from health food stores. I took a small taste from the glass and let it coat my tongue to give it a full flavor profile. It definitely tastes interesting with the herbal flavors mixing with sugar and flavoring. To consume the product I determined to mix some fruit punch gatorade since I was about to go to the gym. Having completed the shot with gatorade, I waited about 30 minutes with some stretching and prepared to go to the gym. The product worked, as I was definitely more energized than normal and enjoyed the clarity it brought to my mindset. In terms of a product for health and wellness that can be integrated into a workout routine, this is a winner. At 5mg of THC per shot, most consumers will not become intoxicated from the cannabis aspect, but they will get the urge to exercise and do physical activity from this product. As with all energy shots, mixing the shot with a chaser is highly recommended. Gatorade is what I mixed it with. Shakti Green Lit energy shots are an innovative product in the cannabis space and provides the consumer with yet another outlet to consume cannabis.
