Commissioners participate in upcoming event

New group hosts free event featuring two Commissioners June 16th

A newly formed non-profit called The Block Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event on June 16th with two very special guests. Bruce Stebbins and Nurys Camargo who both serve on the Cannabis Control Commission will participate in a discussion on the cannabis industry in Massachusetts. The event is free and takes place at the Fitchburg Public Library from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. According to the event description the Commissioners will introduce themselves, explain the journey that led them to serve in this position, and cover pressing issues for the industry and agency such as a social equity fund, social consumption, and much more. The event is a 10-minute walk from the Fitchburg MBTA commuter rail station.

The Block Chamber of Commerce Inc. was formed in March of 2022 with directors Marcus Williams and Penelope Nam-Stephen from cannabis company Rebelle and the President of Major Bloom Ulysses Youngblood. According to their website The Block is, “a collective of black and brown business owners and operators who are focused on creating a fair and equitable cannabis industry that supports our businesses and revenue streams.”
