Trulieve’s latest dispensary in Massachusetts is almost ready to open its doors. NEC News Today got a chance to explore the store and meet some of the Trulieve team during a special media event.
Trulieve is a majority woman led cannabis enterprise operating in several states and publicly traded on the stock market. They have recently arrived in the Commonwealth with locations in Northampton and Worcester. Their newest location in Framingham was easily accessible along MA-30 a short distance from the Shoppers World retail park and just around the corner from the Framingham Walmart and Chick-fil-A. Inside felt very comfortable and elevated. The colorful artwork and the displays on the sales floor and behind the counter do a great job of welcoming you and highlighting the products and accessories.
There was a dedicated area to cannabis accessories which was well done and included some neon signs to make it more lively. The flower bar area, a first inside a Trulieve, allows for consumers to view and smell the flower while making a decision on what to purchase. Flat screen kiosks were also peppered throughout the store and each one allowed an individual to pursue the various product lines and brands available at Trulieve.
One very unique feature built into the store is a bar with seats where customers can learn from and engage with pop-up vendors. Think of this like an Apple Genius Bar but for cannabis consumers. At this bar area, Blue River™ founder Tony Verzura talked about his line of signature solventless cannabis extract flights now available in stores throughout Massachusetts. He also showed off a custom portable dab bar setup made by Calyx containers that was truly impressive. While the dab bar was not functional at the event for compliance reasons, Blue River™ is definitely shaking things up here in the New England cannabis world with their concentrates.
Also in attendance was reality TV show winner Ethan Zohn, winner of Survivor: Africa in 2001. He is the national spokesperson for the Momenta brand which is produced and sold by Trulieve. The Momenta brand includes capsules, tinctures, topicals, and cooling gels. Zohn is also a former professional soccer player and two-time cancer survivor who believes strongly in the healing and wellness properties of cannabis. Trulieve’s Chief Marketing Officer Valda Coryat was also on hand with the General Manager Tyler Hartley to give tours throughout the event. I was personally given a tour of the facility by Jamie Banks, Trulieve’s MA Marketing Manager. Valda, Jamie, and the entire staff were very welcoming to me and I definitely felt good vibes all around.
The date for the grand opening has not been set yet. Trulieve says that the grand opening will be one of a kind experience with all day long celebrity appearances, vendors, giveaways, and swag. NEC News Today will update this story as soon more information becomes available. Check out the photos of our experience below.
