THC caps on cannabis concentrates debated in Vermont

Vermont and Connecticut are two states that have adopted a unique rule around cannabis concentrates that limits their potency. Last year the legislature looked at whether or not to keep the limits and ultimately decided not to remove them. The topic has come front and center again with the Chairman of the Cannabis Control Board being one of many who recently spoke in favor of eliminating the restriction at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Other groups that expressed their support include the Vermont Growers’ Association and the American Nurses Association for Vermont. The cap currently limits cannabis concentrates to 60% THC. The Vermont Medical Society made their position clear. They support the THC caps and would even support restricting extraction of cannabis via the use of any chemicals.
